The Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City (BGCAC) welcomes Dr. Charles Wallace II as its new CEO on April 17th. Wallace will be bringing his extensive background in non-profit leadership, development, and advocacy for minority and diverse populations. Stephen Clark, BGCAC Board President, shared, “The Board and I are extremely excited to welcome Dr. Wallace as our new CEO. His background and experience will ensure that the Club continues building upon the innovative programming and support services it provides to the youth of Atlantic City and their families. Dr.
Wallace’s passion for the Club’s mission will enable him to fit in seamlessly and become an integral part of the Atlantic City community.” Wallace, a 10-year New Jersey resident, received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He went on to receive a Doctor of Ministry from the Christian Life School in Theology. He holds a Certified Non-Profit Executive Director’s certification from Non-Profit WebAdvisor, The Science of Wellbeing from Yale University, a General Manager certification from Hampton Inn, and is completing his certification to be an Adverse Childhood Experience Trainer.
Professionally, Wallace has extensive experience in public and community sectors. Most recently, he has led as a director at HomeFront whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty. Dr. Wallace shares his enthusiasm for BGCAC: “I am passionate about the success of all people, but particularly young people – they are our future! It is our duty and responsibility to serve them relentlessly.” A servant leader by nature, Wallace’s prior experience includes a focus on human services, most notably serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Puerto Rican Action Board as well as Executive Director of the Financial Talent Network of New Jersey Department of Workforce Development and Labor. In addition, he received the New Jersey Governor Commendation for Workforce Development in Financial Talent.
Since 1970, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlantic City has provided hope and opportunity to tens of thousands of young people. BGCAC’S programs and services promote and enhance the development of youth by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. More than 25 nationally tested and proven programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, drug and alcohol prevention, leadership, workforce development and athletics.
