The team from Hard Rock Hotel Atlantic City rocked everything but the boat at this year’s Dragon Boat Festival, an annual fundraising event for Gilda’s Club of South Jersey. The Hard Rock team, “Rock N Rowers” won their Dragon Boat race and captured the coveted Casino Cup at the event on Lake Lenape at Lenape Park East in Mays Landing, NJ. The Hard Rock team also raised the most money, a rockin’ $13,000, in support of Cancer Support Community New Jersey at Gilda’s Club.
According to Gilda’s Club of South Jersey, the annual event features Dragon Boat races and a flower ceremony for loved ones touched by cancer, plus live entertainment, food and fun. Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday included in the Chinese calendar and celebrated with Dragon Boat races around the world.
“Our Rock N Rowers team rowed their hearts out to win the race,” said Hard Rock Atlantic City President George Goldhoff, who participated in the event. “We raised over $13,000 for Cancer Support Community New Jersey and we created great memories in winning the Casino Cup and taking 1st place in the Corporate Category.”
