The Mental Health Association in Atlantic County is organizing a county-wide campaign for May is Mental Health Month called United in Green. The non-profit will provide no cost green pins and printed materials about wellness to any local business, school, church, or organization that wishes to participate.
“Joining in this initiative demonstrates a group’s commitment to the well-being of community members and sends a powerful message of support,” says Carolyn Quinn, the agency’s Director of Community Engagement and Wellness Programs. “It’s simple yet impactful.”
The ribbon-shaped pins are green, which is the color associated with mental health.
“We’re inviting individuals to wear the pins to spark conversations, foster empathy and encourage people to seek help when it’s needed,” she said.
