MBCA Scholarship Foundation & Outstanding Teacher Recognition Awards Luncheon

The Metropolitan Business & Citizens Association (MBCA)  held its 20th  Annual  Spring  Scholarship Foundation Awards Luncheon was held Thursday, April 27 in the Grand Ballroom  of the historic Claridge Hotel . Over $22,000  in  Scholarships and grants were awarded  by the MBCA Education Foundation.

They  were  presented for students in the region   who are  planning to continue their studies at an accredited higher education institution. This year’s Keynote Speaker and Outstanding Educator Award recipient was Dr. Harvey Kesselman  Past President of Stockton University .   He recently  retired and got a standing ovation from over 600 attendees  at the luncheon.

Stage Trip  Scholarship In Memory of  Becky Orsatti to Olivia   D’Alessandro From Mainland HS with Mayor Marty Small Sr.

MBCA  presented  several named Scholarships  the were sponsored by AtlantiCare, Martin Wilson Jr. Music & Arts Scholarships, Stage  Trip, Glenn Insurance,  Accent  Aesthetics , Seashore Gardens Foundation,  & (5)  Named Epicurean Scholarships.   MBCA also recognizes an area educator for their outstanding contributions to education.  The Epicurean Society’s Outstanding Teacher Recognition Award   in the amount of  $1,500  was presented to Julianne  Vannella  From Principal Academy Charter School .This  awards goes to an individual who  makes a difference in the development of his/her students, with a unique Teaching Program or ,demonstrates  resourcefulness and utilizes innovative teaching techniques.
